Bloopers

Bloopers are a common thing, both in front and behind the scenes. In pre-recorded productions like TV shows and movies you’ll hardly ever see them unless the director either a) thought the mistake was to small to detect by a random tv audiance -or- b) made the bloopers part of the credits as you see in some (mostly comedy) movies.

But in live TV shows you see them all the time if you pay attention. How many times have you seen news broadcasts going wrong because someone forgot to que up the right clip? It’s up to the anchor to keep a straight face and improvise to avoid just sitting there like an idiot.

While it may seem funny to us, the watching audiance, it’s a lot less funny for the person responsible for the blooper, especially in news broadcasts. It’s not uncommon for the director to throw a fit over something as small as a wrong tape being played and some people have actually lost their jobs over what seem to be innocent bloopers on live shows.
